He Held Out A Hand

Photobucket

The years have passed by, so many miles traveled
Since we met on that distant long ago time
When I was a dreamer, a shy woman child
Unsure I would find a place to call mine

Then he stood there before me, held out a hand
And we ran through the meadows so free
Chasing sunsets and stardust and other delights
He said come ride the rainbow with me.

We danced in the rain, watched love grow in the sun
Then I looked up one day and did find
At some point we got busy building a life
And lost track of the passage of time

As I shed a tear for what might be gone
The wonder and joy in the small things we’d find
Had the dreamer been lost in the routine of things?
In the mundane of life somehow left behind?

Then he stood there before me, held out a hand
Said come dance in the stardust with me
Unveiling a spell of magic and love
That has been and that always will be
