One Dream

Photobucket

Near a small gentle waterfall
In a moonlit flower filled glen
In that beauty and tranquility
She settled to greet the day’s end.

She stretched to release her day
Spreading wings of gossamer blue
Her silken gown flowed all about her
Ablaze in sunset’s every hue

So she settled in, did the small one
At peace with the stars and the moon
Awaiting the ones that were coming
Ones who would be with her soon.

The first to arrive was the dragon
At her side choosing to lay
As he smoothed her flowing tresses
She leaned on his strength there to stay

The next to appear was the unicorn
By her side he did take his repose
In the twilight between asleep and awake
For a pillow his shoulder she chose

And in that tranquil moment
The three bound in peace and love
Found enchanted perfection
Under indigo skies pinned above

Then a warmth embraced the three
Scent enchanting and soft silver fur
As a spirit wolf curled around them
With kaleidoscope eyes all awhirl.

As the small one into his eye did gaze
Seeing all beings – both mystic and real
Swirl within his eyes - watching her
A perfection therein she did feel

Thus did the tiny faerie child rest
On the dragon’s strength reclined
A unicorn’s shoulder her pillow
Her hand o’er its heart enshrined

But as if there to protect them all
Protectively ‘round them entwined
The spirit wolf lay and sheltered their sleep
Their safety to him now consigned
