The Night

Photobucket

The sun drifts slowly down from the sky,
With a final burst of color she gives way.
Time shifts to the softness that is twilight,
And darkness marks the end of the day.

High in the dark blue velvet night sky
The stardust nourishes visions and dreams,
And in the sleeping minds of the seekers
Truths are revealed that are not as they seem.

So it is the night faeries come out to dance
To the mystic music played on the starlight.
And the beings of the shadows find refuge
In the soft glow of the moon's gentle light.

Our dreams form and grow into new hopes.
All things become real and fantasy takes wing.
We dare to reach for what may seem impossible,
To follow our dreams and to let our hearts sing.

For the night is a time for the timid to stand.
And there I too stand, for I have been one.
Acquainted with the night is a soft dim light
And safety with others who hide from the sun.
