A LIFETIME

A Lifetime

Bound together by a silver cord
Hearts that hold one to the other
Love that was found in an instant
Will take a lifetime to discover

Minds that seem to share thoughts,
Thoughts that reach out to each other
Ideas formed together in a heartbeat
That take a lifetime to discover

Exploring the world as we journey
We learn and we teach each other
The lessons and dreams that we share
Will take a lifetime to discover

For there are those who will journey always with us - and we with them.
And an eternity would not be long enough to learn all we may – and the lessons we share never end.
And if the very stars conspire to divide the silver cord that binds us will not be severed.

Heart Friends

Eyes that meet in silent understanding
Hands that hold gently in a strong, firm grasp
Thoughts shared without a spoken word
Someone who’s there without being asked

So souls that are linked one to the other
Without ever knowing still find a way to meet
And within that instant when souls touch
Their paths are joined before they ever speak

So I hold out my hand and offer my heart
I leave open my soul knowing that you see
And I stand here before you an open book
Knowing you alone know and see the real me

So in a place not measured in time
Moments too brief - to special to see end
So in a heartbeat eternity does dwell
In a single breath a lifetime with a heart friend

Kindred

In the mists of the morning my heart reaches out
Lost in the gray fog a silent cry of sadness and pain
From across time and distance I will be answered
The touch of a kindred heart reaching to answer me

For those of kindred spirit there is no distance
Touch is of the mind, the spirit, and the heart
And even never met see what they’ve never seen
So it is, souls that have never touched are linked

So as it has always been, seeing not with eyes
Seeing not what is seen but see what truly is
Touching not with hands but with the heart
Hearing not with our ears but with our souls

And when truly met beyond the world most see
In the moment that is a heartbeat and eternity
Kindred spirits meet and touch and answer
And amongst the very stars together they dance
